Wind is needed in the desert biome as it helps to bring down the temperature in the summer. The wind helps to erode the sand dunes and break down the sand and clay loam of which the sand dunes are made up of. This helps to create homes for the animals that burrow underground. The winds also help to form sand dunes as they blow the sand. Light is required for plants to get their needed amount of light for the process of photosynthesis. However there is a balance in all seasons needed so the nocturnal animals will have time during the dark hours too come out and feed. The average rainfall in the Simpson Desert is 15cm, this means that plants and animals need to adapt so they don't die of thirst. An example is that plants need longer roots and animals need to be able to get all their liquid from their food. Humidity is very low which means that there is not much water in the air. This means that in the mornings there won't be things like dew.
